Hi Sienna, there are different languages in the world because languages develop as people spread throughout different places and populations become isolated from one another. Over time, minor changes in a language will accumulate allowing different civilzations to develop their own distinct languages. In the earliest years of human existence, when the human population was still small and everyone lived in the same region, there was probably a common language. However, over time people began to migrate to different places and develop their own cultures and lifestyles, as well as languages
Hi Luca, all people are curious and love to experience new things. Because it is possible to fly around the world and because we have been shown pictures of the wonderful things that can be experienced in other countries people want to go and see it for themselves. This week I am in Italy, wish you were here Ozzie.
Hi Anthony, the design of the Australian Coat of Arms was sculpted by Stuart Devlin. The Coat of Arms displays a shield consisting of six badges representing the 6 Australian states New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. Supporting the shield are two native Australian animals the kangaroo and emu. Above is a seven pointed star resting on a wreath, each point representing each state and one point representing the territiories. The background feature is Mitchell Grass. I can't use this coin in Italy, do you know why??? Ozzie
Hi Kaeden, The Akubra is an Australian brand of bush hat, whose wide-brimmed styles are a distinctive part of Australian culture, especially in rural areas. The name is believed to be derived from an Aboriginal word for head covering.I have taken my Akubra to Italy with me. Ozzie
Hi Jaclyn, Whether it's for the waves, sand or sun, the land down under has been known to house some of the best beaches in the world. A combination of long sandy beaches and rocky headlands provides a very attractive coastline for swimmers and surfers. We can easily drive to many beaches in Australia and many of us live at the beach. I am going to see some beaches in Italy today. Ozzie
HI Kaio, In Australia, most people have pipes that bring water to their houses. In countries there are people who don’t have these pipes to bring water to their houses. Everyday they have to collect the water they need. They may get it from a river, or lake, or well, a hand pump. We are so lucky in Australia Ozzie
Hi Year One, I LOVE your blog! My favourite place in Australia is Melbourne. I love to visit Melbourne for lots of reasons. Firstly because my brother lives there, but also because I love the food, the theatre, the shops and (believe it or not) the bread! Have any of you been to Melbourne? I can't wait to visit there again. Keep up the great blogging! Love, Mrs Mead.
Hi Year One Orange, My favourite place in Australia is Crescent Heads. It is a beautiful holiday spot in New South Wales. The beach is gorgeous and it is a pretty quiet spot that not too many people know about. So shhhhhh - don't tell anyone else or EVERYONE will want to holiday there and I won't have any room to swim at the beach. Mrs Walker
Hi Year One Orange, Port Douglas is my favourite place in Australia. It is beautiful there. There are coconut palm trees growing along the beach and you can ride your bike everywhere. - Mrs Lulham
